When a small plastic clip, spacer, cover or bracket is difficult to buy, a print-ready STL can be a practical route to a one-off replacement. PartPact quotes small PLA and PETG parts and shows you proof photos of the finished print before dispatch.
What PartPact can help with
PLA or PETG
PLA suits many dry indoor uses. PETG can be a better choice where a part needs more moisture tolerance or a little more give, although material alone cannot make an unsafe design safe.
A model-based estimate
The quote tool reads the STL geometry and combines estimated material, printer time, quantity, settings and a tracked-delivery reserve.
Proof before the parcel
You review photos of your completed part before it is approved for tracked dispatch. Proof photos show the print; they do not test fit or certify performance.
Good replacement-part candidates
The best candidates are small, non-critical plastic items where you already have a lawful STL and can check the important measurements yourself.
- Furniture feet, caps, knobs and non-structural spacers
- Storage clips, guides, dividers and workshop organisers
- Covers and enclosures for low-risk hobby projects
- Mounts and brackets that do not carry a safety-critical load
- Spare hobby or display parts with clear dimensions
Check the model before ordering
A well-prepared file reduces the chance of receiving a dimensionally correct print that still does not suit the original object.
Confirm you may use the STL
Use your own design or a model whose licence permits the print. Do not upload confidential third-party files or a design you are not allowed to reproduce.
Measure the mating surfaces
Check hole centres, shaft diameters, clip gaps, screw clearances and the model's overall size. STL files do not explain which dimensions are critical.
Choose material for the real environment
Consider moisture, warmth, flex and appearance. Read the PLA and PETG guide, and do not use either material to bypass the prohibited safety categories.
Start with one when fit is uncertain
For a tolerance-sensitive replacement, a single print lets you assess the supplied design before ordering identical spares.
Questions customers ask
Can you copy a broken part from a photo?
Not currently. PartPact prints customer-supplied, print-ready STL files; it does not reverse-engineer a broken object or provide CAD design. You need a model you created or have permission to use.
Can I order just one replacement?
Yes. Set the quantity to one for a one-off part, or choose a higher quantity when you want identical spares from the same STL.
Will the printed part definitely fit?
A print follows the uploaded geometry, but PartPact cannot verify the measurements or tolerances of the original design. Check the model dimensions and allow for clearance where parts clip, slide or screw together.
Which replacement parts are not accepted?
Parts for medical use, weapons, vehicle safety, mains electricity, gas, food contact, child safety or other safety-critical uses are outside the service. Review the prohibited-parts rules before uploading.
