STL files that are ready to quote
The file should contain finished triangle geometry at the intended scale and represent a permitted, non-safety-critical part.
- A watertight or otherwise printable mesh exported at the intended size
- One STL per component when separate parts form a set
- A model you created or have permission to reproduce
- Geometry sized for a normal desktop FDM printer
- No private notes, customer details or secrets in the filename
Before you upload the file
A few checks in your modelling or slicing software make the estimate easier to understand and reduce revision mistakes.
Open the exported STL
Do not rely only on the CAD document. Reopen the exported mesh and check that every intended body appears, surfaces are intact and no old revision was exported by mistake.
Confirm dimensions and scale
STL geometry does not carry a dependable unit label. Check the displayed size against the real part and correct the export if it appears ten or 1,000 times too large or small.
Choose practical print settings
Standard 0.20 mm layers and modest infill suit many everyday prints. Finer layers or denser infill add time and cost, and neither guarantees strength.
Check material and safety limits
Choose PLA or PETG for the intended low-risk environment and read the prohibited-parts rules. PartPact does not certify a model's design or end use.
Questions customers ask
What file type can I upload?
The customer quote accepts print-ready STL files. It does not currently quote from CAD source files, OBJ files, photographs, sketches or links to a model page.
Do I need an account to see an estimate?
No. Start on the public quote page and check the model-based estimate before choosing whether to create an account and submit the print job.
Can I upload several STL files?
Yes. Add up to 12 STL files for one set. The quantity repeats every model in that set, using the same material and selected print settings.
What if the STL is too large or cannot be read?
Check the dimensions in your modelling or slicing software and export the file again as a valid binary or ASCII STL. The quote may warn about unusually large models or reject geometry it cannot analyse safely.
