A printed model can reveal proportions, hand feel, access, cable space and obvious assembly issues that are easy to miss on a screen.

Quote the geometry you have

The estimate uses the uploaded model, expected material and print time, chosen settings, quantity and a tracked-delivery reserve rather than a generic per-part price.

Multiple STL files per set

Upload up to 12 model files when a prototype has separate components. The chosen quantity repeats the complete set, so check that every required part is included.

See the completed print

Proof photos let you inspect the visible finished result before dispatch. Functional testing and dimensional validation remain your responsibility.

Decide what you need to learn from this iteration before choosing settings or ordering several copies.

Define the question for this revision

For example: is the overall size right, can components fit, or is the shape comfortable to hold? A clear aim helps you decide whether standard quality is enough.

Export the intended revision

Open the STL in your own viewer, confirm its dimensions and remove obsolete bodies. Give each required component its own valid STL when needed.

Use sensible settings

Standard 0.20 mm quality and modest infill often suit an early form check. Finer layers and higher infill increase time and cost and are not automatically better.

Treat the result as evidence, not certification

Record what the print teaches you, update the design and perform the engineering or regulatory checks appropriate to any eventual product.

Questions customers ask

Does PartPact design prototypes?

No. PartPact prints completed STL files and does not provide product design, CAD modelling or engineering validation. Revise the model in your own design workflow, then upload the version you want printed.

Can I print one prototype first?

Yes. A quantity of one is suitable for an early physical check. If you change the STL after testing, request a fresh quote for the revised geometry.

Can a prototype be treated as a certified final part?

No. A PartPact print is not engineering certification, regulatory approval or proof that a design is safe for production. Safety-critical and regulated uses are excluded.

Are prototype files public?

Customer STL files are handled through private storage and controlled access rather than a public download gallery. Do not upload a file if your project requires contractual NDA handling that has not been agreed separately.
